Fried Fish Recipes

The delicious aroma of fried fish and fish curry that would waft in the afternoon hours in the tiny lanes of Goa is something I can never forget! Fish being a kind of staple diet in the tiny land of Goa, India, it is no wonder that fried fish rates high on my list of favorite foods. Fish is cooked in different types of cuisine and if you think you really can't live without fish, then here are some delicious and mouth-watering recipes that can help you to get a taste of different cuisines in the comfort of your own home.

Delicious Fried Fish Fillet

Ingredients
Fish fillets (Haddock or cod- 1 pound)
Oil
Flour (1/2 cup)
Paprika (1/4 teaspoon)
Salt
Pepper

Preparation
First, you need to pour some quantity of oil in a skillet for frying and heat it to 375 degrees. Then, you need to combine the flour along with the paprika and add some salt and pepper to taste. Then, roll the fish fillets gently into the flour mixture. Fry both sides of the fish evenly for about 5 minutes. Serve hot.

Egg with Fried Fish

Ingredients
Eggs - beaten (2)
Crushed saltines (1-1/2 cups)
Oil
Whitefish fillets - cut lengthwise in half (2 pounds)

For the Tartar Sauce
Mayonnaise (1 cup)
Chopped onion (1 tablespoon)
Sweet pickle relish (2 tablespoons)

Preparation
Take 2 shallow bowls and place the eggs in one and the cracker crumbs in the other. Roll the fish fillets in the eggs and follow it up with a coating in the cracker crumbs. Place it aside for 5 minutes. Then, heat some oil in an electric skillet to 375 degrees F. You need to fry the fish fillets in this oil, but do place only few pieces at a time so that they can be fried evenly. Fry fish for around 2 minutes on each side. Remove from heat once they turn a shade of golden brown. Use tissue paper to place these fried fish pieces in order to drain the excess oil. This recipe will taste delicious when served with tartar sauce. For the tartar sauce, combine the ingredients mentioned above in a separate bowl and serve with the hot, fried fish.

Deep-fried Fish

Ingredients
Fish fillets
Flour (1 cup)
Baking powder (1 tablespoon)
Water (1/2 cup)
Milk (1/2 cup)
Vinegar (1 teaspoon)
Salt (1 teaspoon)
Pepper (1 teaspoon)

Preparation
First, combine all the dry ingredients in a bowl. Then, add the liquids to this. Keep stirring while you add it slowly. Let all the ingredients combine and blend well. Meanwhile, rinse the fillets in some quantity of cold water. Then, drain the water and gently pat it dry with the help of some paper towels. Heat some quantity of oil in a pan to about 370 degrees and place the fillets in the batter. Deep-fry these fish fillets till they turn a shade of golden brown.

Easy Fried Fish

Ingredients
Canola oil
Fish fillets (3 pounds)
Pancake mix (1 cup)
Seasoned bread crumbs (1 cup)
Water (1/4 cup)
Egg - beaten (1)
Lemon pepper
Garlic salt

Preparation
Heat some quantity of oil in a deep skillet. Maintain medium heat for the same. Cut the fish into tiny pieces and sprinkle some quantity of lemon pepper over this. You can also add some garlic salt. Meanwhile, make a mixture of pancake with breadcrumbs in a large bag. Prepare a mixture of eggs and water and dip the cut pieces of fish in this. Then, these pieces need to be placed in the same bag, which contains the crumb mixture made earlier. Once done, fry these fish pieces in hot oil for at least 8 minutes. Turn them so that both sides get cooked evenly. Use a combination of tartar sauce with piping hot, fresh fried fish and serve immediately.
