Seafood Pasta Recipes

Pasta has an Italian origin and it comes in about 350 different shapes. It has gained an extreme popularity all over the world. It is recognized by various names according to its shapes such as macaroni (hollow cylinders), spaghetti (thin, solid cylinders), gnocchi (balls) or fusilli (swirls). A unique combination of pasta and seafood including fish, shellfish, prawns and lobsters gives rise to versatile, mouth-watering recipes. Pasta with Smoked Salmon

Ingredients
500 gm dried pasta
250 gm smoked salmon
1 small glass white wine
Grated Parmesan cheese
140 ml carton double cream

Preparation
Cook pasta in boiling water. Add some olive oil in order to prevent sticking of the pasta. Bring wine to boil in a large pan. Then add salmon, cheese and cream and heat. Add the creamy pasta sauce to the pasta. Mix it thoroughly and pour it into the serving plate. This dish goes well with some crusty bread and a nice salad.

Prawn Pasta with Courgettes and Chili

Ingredients
200 gm dried pasta shapes
1 courgette, cut into thin strips
1 chopped fresh green chili
2 tablespoons olive oil
200 gm frozen or fresh prawn or shrimp
4 fresh ripe tomatoes, skinned and chopped
Ground black pepper
Good quantity of fresh chopped parsley
Fresh grated Parmesan

Preparation
Cook pasta in boiling water for about 10 minutes, until it becomes tender. Add courgette and chili to the hot olive oil and gently fry for about 3-5 minutes, until they start to soften. Then add tomatoes and cook for 3 minutes. Add prawns and fry them for about 2 minutes, until they are heated through. Then add chopped parsley and heat for about a minute. Add a few twists of black pepper. Drain pasta and add cooked prawns to pasta. Serve it immediately with some fresh Parmesan and crusty bread.

Shrimp and Crab Macaroni Salad

Ingredients
3 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
2 strips celery, diced
5 eggs
green bell pepper, diced
onion, minced
pound crabmeat
pound fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
cup milk
1 cup mayonnaise
1 teaspoon fresh mint
1 teaspoon dried dill weed
2 teaspoons cocktail sauce
teaspoon white sugar
1/8 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons paprika, for garnishing

Preparation
Place the eggs in the saucepan and cover them with cold water. Bring water to boil and quickly remove it from the heat. Cover the pan and allow the eggs to stand in hot water for about 10-12 minutes. Remove the eggs from the hot water and let them cool. Peel the eggs and chop 4 eggs. Reserve one egg for garnishing. Bring some lightly-salted water to boil in a large pot. Add pasta and cook it for about 8-10 minutes. Mix eggs, macaroni, onion, celery, crabmeat, shrimp and green pepper in a large mixing bowl. In another mixing bowl, whisk together milk, mayonnaise, mint, dill, sugar, salt, hot pepper sauce and cocktail sauce. Pour the dressing mixture into the macaroni mixture and mix it thoroughly. Sprinkle some paprika on its top and decorate with the sliced egg. Seal the bowl using a plastic wrap and chill it for about 4-6 hours.
