How to Cook Scallops

Scallops are highly prized food source belonging to a marine bivalve mollusk. Here are a few delicious and easy to make recipes.

A Simple Way to Cook Scallops

Here is a recipe to make delicious scallops in an easy and simple way. Clean and dry around 10 scallops in a paper towel. Marinate the scallops with salt, pepper and lemon juice. Add herbs if required. In a thick-bottomed pan melt butter over a low to medium high flame. Place the scallops in the pan and sear them until one side is golden brown. Now turn them over to the other side and cook until this side also turns brown. Serve it hot with sauce or ketchup.

Barbecued/Grilled Scallops With Slices of Bacon

Ingredients

12 Slices of bacon (rind removed)
24 Scallops (shelled and cleaned)
Juice of 2 lemons
2 Ounces of unsalted butter (melted)
1 tsp freshly chopped parsley

In a bowl, mix lemon juice, pepper, parsley and melted butter. Marinate the scallops in this mixture. Cut the bacon width wise and wrap each scallop in it. Thread this onto a skewer.

Place the skewer over the hot coals for 5 minutes, turning each side once in a while or until the bacon is crisp and golden brown. You can baste the skewer with remaining butter mixture.

Once done, transfer the skewer on to a serving platter and drizzle the remaining butter mixture and serve hot with any sauce or ketchup.
