Grilled Catfish Recipes

Grilled Catfish is a delicacy that is enjoyed all over the world. Not just because it is delicious, but because it is available almost everywhere in the world! So everywhere in the world, people have come up with a grilled catfish recipe in their local cooking style with their local herbs.

Easy Grilled Catfish Recipes

Lemon Grilled Catfish

Ingredients
  • 6 catfish filets about 5 to 7 ounces each
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 clove garlic crushed
  • 2 tablespoons lemon pepper
For Lemon-Parsley Relish
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup onion finely minced
  • 1/2 cup dried parsley flakes
Prepare the grill. Combine the lemon juice, butter and garlic in a bowl and mix it well. Rinse the fish and pat it dry with paper napkins. Dab the butter mixture on the fish evenly on both sides of the fillet and sprinkle with lemon pepper. Put the fish on the greased rack of the grill. The fish is ready when you can see that on inserting a fork, it gets a flaky texture. While the fish is being grilled, combine all the ingredients of the relish in a bowl and stir. Serve the fish with the relish. You can also eat it with grilled potatoes or steamed rice.

Grilled Jamaican Catfish

Ingredients
  • 4 catfish fillets
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 jalapeo pepper, seeded and chopped
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons white wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 teaspoon allspice
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Preheat the grill and combine all the ingredients except the fish in a bowl. Coat the fish evenly in half the marinade and let it sit for 5-10 mins before putting it on the grill. Lightly oil the grate and put the fish in the grill and allow it to cook for 5 mins, lightly brushing marinade both the sides of the fillets. Cook for 7 min more and serve!

Greek Grilled Catfish

Ingredients
  • 6 catfish fillets (8 ounces each)
  • Greek seasoning to taste
  • 4 ounces feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1 tablespoon mint, dried
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
On both sides of the fillet, sprinkle greek seasoning, feta cheese and dried mint. Spread olive oil over each of the pieces. Roll the fillets and pin them with toothpicks. Then grill these fillets over medium heat for 20 min. They are ready when the fish acquires a flaky texture when you try to pierce it.

Grilled Catfish with Ginger Sauce

Ingredients
  • 4 catfish fillets
  • Olive oil
  • Basil
  • Parsley
  • oregano
  • 1/4 c. dry white wine
  • Melted butter
To make the Ginger Sauce, you will need:
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 3 tbsp. butter
  • 1/2 lb. mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/4 c. prepared ginger sauce
  • 6 strawberries, sliced
  • 1/4 c. sherry
To make the Ginger sauce, you will need to first saut onions and mushrooms in the butter. Make sure both the onions and mushrooms are sliced into very thin pieces. After they are sauted, add the sherry, strawberries and ginger sauce. For the fish, you have to first prepare the marinade of olive oil, basil, parsley, oregano, wine and butter. Rub this marinade onto the fish. Place the marinated fish fillets in the middle of the grill for about 20 mins until they are ready. Once again, they are ready when the fish becomes flaky. Once ready, serve it with the ginger sauce.
