  • 1 cup Italian dressing
  • Salt and pepper as per taste
Directions for Preparation

Prepare the fish fillets by cleaning and defrosting (if necessary) in the refrigerator. Add fillets in a Ziploc bag and pour Italian dressing. Turn fillets, so that they are covered with the dressing. Marinade fish in the refrigerator for about half an hour to one hour. After this, start the grill and place fillets on indirect heat. Grill for about 5 minutes for each side and while turning, brush the sides with dressing. Also, sprinkle salt to suit your taste. This grilled fish recipe is served best with grilled vegetables.

Baked Mahi Mahi with Mushroom

Ingredients
  • 1 pound mahi mahi fillets
  • 8 ounces fresh mushrooms (sliced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (crushed)
  • cup onion (chopped)
  • a tablespoon onion powder
  • cup olive oil
  • cup soy sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
Directions for Preparation

In a mixing bowl, combine together the marinade ingredients - garlic, chopped onion, onion powder, olive oil, soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Keep this marinade aside. Rinse the fillets under a running tap and put them in a thick ziploc bag of appropriate size. Pour the marinade in the bag and shake gently, making sure that the fillets are covered with the flavorful marinade. For better taste, refrigerate and marinade mahi mahi fillets for about an hour.

Preheat oven to about 350 F. You can grease a glass casserole dish lightly with a cooking spray. Place the sliced mushrooms in this casserole and transfer the marinated fish fillets (along with the marinade). With the mushrooms toppled with fish and marinade, bake for about 20 - 25 minutes, until the fillets are cooked well. As per your taste, garnish this baked fish with flavoring herbs and serve.

Grilled Mahi Mahi with Vegetables

Ingredients
  • 6 ounces mahi mahi fillets
  • 2 cups shredded coleslaw mix
  • 1 cup shredded cucumber
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 3 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chopped parsley
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • cup lime juice
  • Salt and pepper for taste
Directions for Preparation

First of all, clean fish fillets, pat them dry with an absorbent tissue paper and keep aside. Take a large mixing bowl and add the ingredients for dressing - garlic, cilantro, lime juice, lemon peel (optional), honey, oil, salt, and pepper. In another medium-sized bowl, add shredded coleslaw mix and cucumber. After the dressing ingredients are mixed well, add half the amount of dressing in the coleslaw mixture and toss. Keep this aside for serving with the grilled fillets.

Take a glass pan and add the fish fillets. Pour the remaining dressing over them and toss, ensuring that the fillets are coated with dressing. Put the lid and refrigerate for about 30 minutes. In the meantime, grease an electric grill lightly and then switch it on. Once you preheat the grill, discard marinade while taking out only the fish fillets. Place fillets over the grill properly and cover lid. Grill mahi mahi pieces for about 3 minutes or until they turn flaky. Serve grilled fish with the marinated coleslaw and cucumber mixture.

Try these delicious mahi mahi dishes to treat some new seafood meals to your family members. You can even prepare this fish in the traditional cooking style and I am sure your friends will ask for more next time!
