Editor's Marks

When it comes to being an editor, we have a hawk's eye, a rhinoceros guts and an owl's wisdom. In short, we are harrowed all the time. If Oscar Wilde were alive, he'd not have bothered about being earnest, he'd have only stressed on the importance of being an editor. But not wanting to be a Wilde child, I'll simply speak about editor's marks. Thank-god for those small red lines that indicate typos. These are all known as editor's marks or editor's markings, that is, those little pointers which help you know what you've written wrong. These are specially helpful, as editor's marks for students are a true blessing for many teachers.

However, there are instances where the words used aren't wrongly spelled or non-existent in 'the very funny English language' but are merely words that are misplaced. It's like the funeral joke.. ya, ya the one where instead of saying "I'm sorry", try saying "I apologize" and the next thing you know, you'll be attending your own funeral. So given below are a few examples where editor's marks (or editors 'stains' as my writers prefer to call it) don't really help much.
